News Updates from 2017

As can been seen from the news reports we are in need of extra help on site. Its takes up most of Chris's time just keeping the location clear of plant growth. With more help we can make a start on reversing the decay and starting to restore. Please contact us via contact@bulleid4dddoubledeck.co.uk or though our Facebook Group should you be able to spare a Saturday morning to come along and help.

Following the sad news last week of Mr Lewis-Evans passing, only Chris will be on site for the present. Work done ensuring the site is presentable and safe. 5th August 2017

It is with sadness. I have been given permission by the Lewis Evans Family to say that: Esmond Lewis Evans has Passed Away this afternoon, 5/8/2017. As many will know Esmond was at the forefront of Railway Preservation in the early years. Without him, The Bulleid 4DD, 01 Class 0-6-0 number 65 and many Pullman Cars and much more, wouldn't be here today. Since our group started working with Esmond Lewis Evans on the restoration of the 4DD, we had the opportunity to get to know him really well. We will miss his stories of the 'Old Days' his wit and most of all, a man who was a true Gent!

A legend in Railway Preservation.

RIP Lewis, We will miss you!
